30 Weeks

Well, this week we graduated from our Childbirth Class. Here we are with our teacher, Jessie, after 4 weeks of relaxation, breathing, and laughs! We learned a lot about how things are SUPPOSED to go, so hopefully that's how everything works. Change the plan, and we're clueless!

All of the Dad's wore the Empathy Belly during class. They had to bend over and pick up things they dropped and walk around with all of the extra weight. The belly weighed 50 pounds to help the Dad's understand how Mom feels and how much weight she's carrying around.Kheang's belly is still a little bigger than mine! Only 10 weeks to go....I'm sure I get there!

Childbirth Class

Yesterday was our second childbirth class. For those of you who don't already know, Kheang and I are planning for natural childbirth (yep -- that means no drugs). We figure some pretty amazing women over the last few hundred years have successfully given birth naturally (both our mothers included). I think Kheang is looking forward to this as an opportunity to be a truly involved Coach. We've been practicing our relaxation and meditation for pain relief and our breathing and massage during contractions. Whether we reach our goal or not, I'm looking at it as though I have an excuse to get lots of massages!

We Passed our Test

Bing and I underwent our first real test last week, and we passed. I ate over 20 jellybeans in 5 minutes for my glucose tolerance test. The red and green were the best, but after 20, they all tasted bad. We also had our doctor's visit, and Dr. Lo said we are doing well and growing appropriately. Our next appointment is is 4 weeks at about 31 weeks. We'll keep you updated!

24 Weeks!

Brooke and I are now at 24 weeks. We can feel Bing jumping and kicking in her belly (well she can feel it...I'm not sure what I'm feeling exactly!) I think she looks beautiful...she thinks I'm crazy!

Bing's New Bedding

Brooke and I were very excited today...we went and picked up Bing's bedding from our new friend Laura Parrish at Rocking Horse Designs. Brooke cried tears of joy the first time she saw the bedding. Laura told me it was the pregnancy hormones...I told her it was just Brooke! We're very happy with her beautiful work...take a look at these pics, but it looks even better in person!
